Researching the candidates
Researching political candidates is tricky, especially since campaign websites change frequently and are taken down immediately when the campaign ends.
Fortunately, the Library of Congress archives all campaign Websites. Search by campaign. For example, ‘Herman Cain 2016.’ Once you find the candidate’s screen shot, click ‘captures’ and then select a date for the Website as it appeared on that day.
Finding news coverage about candidates is very easy using Proquest Database. After search, select either Magazines or Newspapers to narrow the search.
Another Database, Gale US History in Context has some great search options that will yield very different results from Google.
