Ever dream of having more time to read for pleasure? This year’s Teen Read Week theme is “Turn Dreams into Reality @your library,” so what better time to actually do it. During the week, the HPHS library will provide delicious snacks in a dedicated reading area during each lunch period. Any Scot can partake of the goodies by signing in and reading a book, magazine or e-reader for at least 15 minutes. Though you may read assigned material, we encourage everyone to take a break and read for pure enjoyment!
During Teen Read Week we will also conduct daily trivia contests via school announcements and have the first meeting of the Student Advisory Board for the library. If you are interested in a leadership experience and in helping the library better serve fellow students, please see Ms. Harrison.
On Twitter, the @HPScotsLibrary will host a Book Spine Poetry contest. Create a book spine poem by arranging library books strategically, Tweet a photo and mention @HPScotsLibrary. The best poem will win free printing in the library! It is not essential that your poem use the theme of Teen Read Week, but that will only help! See this Website for example poems and this flyer for contest details.
